.NET is not a language my friend. It is just a "group" of languages, that can communicate with each through .NET standards.

Do you want to learn the .NET architecture, i.e. what is the .net standards OR do you actually want to learn one of .NET languages?

The most prominent of .NET languages is C# and you probably will not need any prior language knowledge. It's good to know OOP approach and such.

If I were you I'd just take a university course in algorithms and object oriented programming (no matter what they teach them in - even if in Java).

Bah, hope this helps.
Reply:VB.NET is the visual basic.

Just pick up a reference or a course in Visual Basic.

The .NET part is not important unless you want to use the some one else's C# code or what not. Report It

Reply:I personally disliked VB from the very beginnings, both for it's clumsiness and slowness. But I believe now the slowness can be remedied a little, with the optimized compilers out there.

The syntax - is to ones personal taste I guess. Report It
