How do I make games with c++?

All I can really do is make text based things that arent really even that fun. I cant even make text based rpgs because I have no way of making a feature to save your progress in the game. Everything just resets everytime I run an RPG. I havent got into classes or anything, and I have no clue about putting pictures or files in my games(like a background photo). guess the number text based edition is about all i know how to do lol. I own 3 books (C++ through game programming 2nd edition, C++ for dummies, and making rpgs with directx). I have read enough of the c++ books to know the basics, but I havent even started on the directx one. I use Dev-C++. A lot of tutorials say to start out small with tetris, breakout, etc. But the truth is... I dont even know how to make that!!!

Use SDL, OpenGL or DirectX. Even MFC/general Win32 programming works.
Reply:If you want to make a multiplayer game that can save I would recommend using Realmcrafter. You dont really need to be coding anything unless you want to and it is basically an easy way to make a game. http://www.realmcrafter.com/
Reply:im not shure but i think you need special software because i think i once saw software with c+
